The home Sharma shared with his mother

The lifeless body of a No. 60 Village, Corentyne Labourer was on Tuesday, November 29 found in his yard with chop wounds about his body.

Twenty-five-year-old Ravi Kumar Sharma was reportedly beaten and chopped by one of his drinking partners last night, then dumped in the back of the yard.

The labourer lived with his mother and arrived home last evening intoxicated and instructed his mother to leave the home to which she complied. It was when The woman returned this morning that she made the shocking discovery.

Police took a 28-year-old fisherman into custody and he is said to be assisting with investigations.

The suspect told police that he visited Sharma’s home late last night and the two had an argument, which turned physical, in the process the victim was badly beaten with a cutlass.
