Case dismissed against woman who threatened President Granger on Facebook
The woman who was charged with exciting racial hostility and ill-will against President David Granger on Facebook, was today (July 28) cleared of the charges by Chief Magistrate, Ann Mc Lennan.
Fifty-two -year-old Bibi Safoora Salim, was arrested and charged by police following her infamous Facebook comments, “Granger want a bullet in he head…I am out of a job now because of them,” which sparked intense race debate from all quarters of society, continues to be investigated.
However; her Attorney persuaded the court that the charge was void because the particulars did not state how her posting on Facebook violated the Racial Hostility Act.
The threats against President, David Granger received widespread attention from members of the public which led to her arrest.
Following her arrest she was placed on $200,000.
