UPDATE: Popular Kitty businessman arrested over alleged involvement in Kaieteur News grenade attack

A popular Kitty businessman is in police custody assisting with investigation into the grenade attack on Kaieteur News which occurred on June 4, at the Newspaper’s Saffon Street, Charlestown, Georgetown office.
The businessman was arrested on Monday (June 27) as the investigation continues into the incident which left the management and staff traumatized.
Following the incident several persons were arrested and so far three men have been charged, but the police continue to follow additional leads in search of the mastermind.
The trio, Alfie Garraway, of Norton Street, Joneil Howard, of Turkeyen, East Coast Demerara and Leroy Williams, of Durban Backlands, were not required to plead to the indictable charge during their recent court appearance.
It is alleged that they men illegally and maliciously conspired together and with other persons to cause an explosion by way of a grenade to endanger lives and cause damage to property.
The men will make their next court appearance on July 7.
