Police detain bloodied car that transported murdered Sophia woman and killer
The vehicle which was used to transport, Simone Hackett’s child father, Clevon Hamilton to Cummings Lodge, East Coast Demerara, was today (April, 22) discovered in Madhia by police.
Crime Chief, Wendell Blanhum told Capitol News that the car was discovered with blood stains, however, the driver remains on the run.
Hamilton yesterday confessed to murdering the mother of his child on Saturday last.
Clevon Hamilton told investigators that he travelled from Mahdia, stayed in a city hotel and lured Hackett to the railway embankment under the pretext that a package was sent with gold and cash with one of his close friends, ‘Dexter’ for her to uplift.
However; when Hackett turned up, she was greeted by the father of her only son and his friend who was waiting in a taxi. An argument ensued between them and the man began choking her, he then stabbed her in the back with a cutlass which was hidden in his haversack. Hamilton dumped the woman’s body and got into the waiting taxi.
Hackett’s body was discovered a few days later by two school boys next to a trench in Cummings Lodge.
The man reportedly said the killing stemmed from jealousy and a custody battle over their son.
