Prison unrest CoI to resume hearings on Monday
The Commission of Inquiry (CoI) into the deadly Camp Street Prison unrest will resume public hearings on Monday (April, 04). The Commission was granted a two month extension after its working life expired on March 28, placing its operation on hold.
As result, hearings are scheduled to recommence tomorrow, from 10 to 14:00 hours.
It was President, David Granger who ordered the setting up of the CoI, following the deaths 17 prisoners and injury of others on March 03. The Commission began its work on March 10 and already 10 prisoners have testified.
