Elderly Albouystown couple dies days after attempting suicide

An elderly couple died on Wednesday (March 30), days after a suicide attempt. The James Street Albouystown, Georgetown residents consumed the poisonous substance, gramoxone and were patients of the Woodlands Hospital, when they succumbed.
Dead are 55 year-old Bibi Mohamed and her husband Fazil Mohamed, 65.
When Capitol News visited the mourning family, the couple’s daughter, Bibi Mohamed said her parents have been suffering from depression for almost two years, due to their deteriorating health.
She believes this was the reason behind the suicide.
The young Mohamed added that her father has been suicidal for some time now, because of his unchanging medical history and suffered from hypertension and cholesterol for over 20 years.
The couple believed, death was the only answer, since they saw themselves as a burden to their child, the daughter added.
This she said was far from the truth, since they are now left devastated.
The Mohamed’s owned the popular, Shireen’s Grocery Store, in Albouystown.
