Remedial works to begin on Supenaam stelling soon – Min Ferguson
Remedial works are expected to commence soon to the Supenaam stelling in Essequibo, which is currently in a deplorable state. The works will be undertaken by the Ministry of Public Infrastructure.
Minister within the Ministry, Annette Ferguson made this announcement during a visit to Supenaam at the weekend, where she inspected infrastructures in region two.
Ferguson was accompanied by senior Minister, David Patterson.
“Some millions were spent on the Supenaam stelling under the previous Administration and in less than 10 years of its existence, the state of the wharf is one that is troubling, and so we did the assessment, and I want to assure the citizens of Essequibo that corrective works will be done,” Minister Ferguson told the Government Information Agency (GINA.)
This stelling was built more than six years ago to the tune of $600M.
