Rodney Commission to hand in Report on Monday
The final report of the Walter Rodney Commission is expected to be handed over to President Granger at the Ministry of the Presidency by next Monday. This is according to Attorney General Basil Williams who met with members of the commission earlier today.
The Attorney General Williams also said the report will only be made public once the president would have completed a review of the report.
During the course of the week, the commissioners will be going through the evidence presented before the commission in order to finalise their report.
The three-man commission is headed by Chairman Sir. Richard Cheltenham from Barbados while the other members are Jacqueline Samuels-Browne of Jamaican and Senior Counsel Seenauth Jairam of Trinidad and Tobago. The commission was installed two years ago by former President Donald Ramotar. Ramotar at the time said he was attempting to bring closure to Rodney family despite claims by critics that the commission was being used as an election gimmick.
