Forty Bales of Ganja off the Road for Lent
Four persons with connections to Guyana have been detained in the neighboring country of Brazil following a drug bust there.
The three men and one woman, including a former member of law enforcement in Guyana, were nabbed when a vehicle was intercepted transporting a large quantity of marijuana.
The Brazilian Police seized over 40 bales of compressed marijuana, a quantity of currency both Guyanese and Brazilian, cellphones and the passports belonging to those alleged to be involved in the conspiracy to traffic narcotics. Two were identified as Guyanese nationals and two are Brazilian.
Capitol News understands that the quartet had entered Brazil from the Lethem area when they were arrested in Roraima State.
