Health workers being trained in Ebola surveillance

aa3The first round of training commenced today for health care workers who are being used in the surveillance programme for Ebola.

Today’s training was held at the Georgetown Public Hospital was facilitated by Dr. Johanna Cole, a consultant working with the Hospital in Internal Medicine-Infectious Diseases.

Dr Cole said that another round of training would be done specifically for health worker attached to the Georgetown Hospital.

Some 1, 600 persons are being used in the surveillance programme for Ebola, which has killed over 4, 000 persons, mostly in West Africa.
