Thief beaten first by residents, then handed to police

aaa1A suspected thief was caught by some residents in Cummings Street Thursday afternoon. The man was dealt a sound trashing, then he was handed over to the police at the Georgetown Hospital.

It all started when he was reportedly caught in a tree in the area. Residents said they were appalled how the man was able to scale two relatively high fences and reach into a businessman’s yard.

At the hospital the young man was groaning in pain when he spoke to this newscast. He was admitted for his injuries.

One of the young men who caught the man in the act spoke to this newscast.

The man is currently in police custody
