LGBT community fears further persecution
While president Donald Ramotar is saying that he has no problem with the Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual & Transgender (LGBT) community and he is against discrimination towards the group some members of that community told reporters that they want laws to protect them.
And the community intends to treat with their security more serious since in their view plying their trade is getting dangerous.
President Ramotar over the weekend said suggested that sexual minority groups not be discriminated against when it comes to employment opportunities and access to government services. The rights group SASOD has called on Ramotar to fire his junior finance Minister Juan Edgehill over hwat they see as hate speech against sxual minority groups, but Ramotar over the weekend said he has not studied what Edgehill said. Edghill had described homosexuality as destructive, unwholesome and unhealthy and told a local radio programme it should not be tolerated in the Guyanese society during a radio programme
