Despite soggy conditions and a slow start, Treacle blazed the trail to walk away with the Banks DIH $1 million first prize in the feature event of the Rising Sun Turf Club’s horse racing meet last Sunday.
Coming around the final turn, Jack In My Style was a length clear of the champion horse but his lead quickly vanished.
The three year old Guyana and West Indies bred horse was a scorcher with Unsettle settling an old score with Shooting Star. Shooting Star on the last meeting defeated unsettle in another close encounter.

Guyana Amazon Warriors wing out today in their quest for top honours in the year’s Limacol CPL cricket championship. Coach Roger Harper said that he is confident of bringing home the trophy this time around.
Guyana will open this year’s tournament on Friday against Antigua Hawksbills in Grenada and leading pace man Khrismar Santokie said he is ready to go.
In the inaugural competition last year Guyana existed in the semi-finals, losing to the Jamaica Talawahs.
And To cycling top, local cyclist Marlon Williams rode away with the wheat up first prize in the Caricom wheat up cycling race classic around the Seawall Band stands held on Sunday.
The 30 lap feature race saw Williams winning by a close margin in front of veteran rider robin Persaud and national junior Michael Anthony.
The Caricom day wheat up classic event was sponsored by Namilco , which was pleased with the outcome of the event .
