Ogunseye testifies at Rodney COI
Working People’s Alliance executive Tacoma Ogunseye under cross examination by Basil Williams – Lead Attorney for People’s National Congress Reform, said searches conducted in the homes of party members by the police were justified during the civil rebellion when arms and ammunition were distributed to selected party members.
Ogunseye also said some members of the executive which included Eusi Kwayana were not knowledgeable that the security group of the party which included himself, Dr. Walter Rodney and Dr. Rupert Roopnarine were accumulating arms.
The WPA member also told the commission that despite the party’s close relationship with revolutionaries in Surname during the 1970’s it did not use those ties for the accumulation of arms and ammunition.
The commission adjourned today and will resume on July 28th to August 8 when, Ogunseye will again take the stand.
