Hotel Tower workers face off with management over payments
A meeting called this afternoon between the management of Tower Hotel, staff and their union ended abruptly after the management reportedly began complaining about their indebtedness. The workers are still to receive their salaries and some opted for severance. The hotel management had promised to pay the workers some weeks ago and reopened the doors of hotel.
But that arrangement has fallen through much to the dissatisfaction of the workers who are demanding their monies.
The workers are represented by the Clerical and Commercial Workers Union and president of the union Sherlock Clarke said the company made another promise today to pay the workers their salaries by Friday and commence the payment of their severance by the following week.
Tower Hotel is up for sale and the management reportedly found a buyer.
