Ignored Citizen issues
Corruption, good governance and transparency in public expenditure while improving security of citizens and increasing public sector wages are just some of the issues the AFC feels the present administration refuses to carry out as reform measures.
The number one issue topping the list released on Friday by the party is the immediate establishment of the Public Procurement Commission and appointment of all members of the Integrity Commission.
On the note of corruption AFC feels that there should be immediate steps to tackle corruption in the public sector including a forensic audit of the operations of NICIL and the Sole Sourcing of Drugs from New GPC.
AFC would also like to see the government transfer the cash balance from NICIL to the Consolidated Fund and Hold a forensic audit on all subsidies and additional spending on the Skeldon Sugar Factory.
On the Berbice Bridge toll issue the party feels that an immediate reduction in the toll for crossing the river is needed. AFC even believes that the government should consider the construction of a new bridge across the Demerara River one that is not floating.
