Harmon now representing ex-servicemen at Walter Rodney COI
Retired Guyana Defence Force Lieutenant Colonel Joseph Harmon will now be representing the interest of the Ex – Guyana Defence Force Association during the public hearings of the Walter Rodney Commission of Inquiry. The association comprises former members of the Guyana Defence Force, the Guyana National Service and the Guyana People’s Militia.
Harmon, who together with Basil Williams and James Bond were representing the interests of the PNCR, said he believes the party is adequately represented.
The Attorney said the men whom he represents are paying close attention to the Commission and believes that their reputations are being tarnished, making particular mention to point four of the Terms of Reference of the Commission.
However, Council to the Commission Glen Hanoman asked whether Harmon will be representing retired Major General Norman Mclean and if he will be calling any witnesses.
The Ex-GDF Association is the latest agency to put forward representation at the commission to ascertain who was responsible for the death of Working People’s Alliance Co-leader Dr. Walter Rodney. HE was killed when a walkie talkie he was carrying exploded on June 13, 1980.
