Kraigg Braithwaite smashed his first test century as I made a strong reply on the 2nd day of the 2nd test against New Zealand.

Braithwaite took 199 balls and smashed 11 fours in his knock. Darren Bravo was also closing in on his hundred just after tea as the pair put on a century plus partnership for the 5th wicket

Former Guyana Captain and Coach Mark Harper says that the recent actions by the WICB that led to the 3rd test being removed were totally out of order

Harper said the breakdown in governance was reflected in the performance of the test team in the just concluded first test where the WI lost by 186 runs inside 4 days.

The Former Guyana player said that the WI players are not where they ought to be mentally and the results over the past few years have reflected that.

Basketball

Guyana’s women team is in a race to be fit in time for the Caribbean Basketball Championships set for early July in The British Virgin Islands. Senior player Natasha Alder said the girls are looking forward to making a good return to the CBC.

Alder said that there are few seniors around but the youth players are up to the Challenge

Coach Brian Carter says that he is trying to work with what talent is available even though there are challenges.
