Sooba backs Local Gov’t polls end to end City Hall impasse

soobaActing Town Clerk, Carol Sooba during a recent interview with our news team about her challenges over at the Georgetown Municipality.
Sooba says she is prepared to continue to endure the rift between herself and the Georgetown Mayor including other councilors.
The Acting Town Clerk said there should be Local Government Elections since it might be the answer to some of the City Hall’s problems.

On Tuesday at a council meeting Sooba was again being ignored as the Town Clerk. The meeting ended abruptly since there was no agreement among councilors on matters brought to the attention of the Georgetown Council.

According to the Acting Town Clerk public matters that were being ignored included building plans, Town Clerk’s certificates, waiver of boundary and financial matters.
Sooba plans to go about her duties even without the support of the Mayor and other councilors. Until her time is up at City Hall she remains under the protection of her two body guards.
