Score’s even led from gate to pole as she destroyed rival horses to capture the 1 million dollar first prize at the PPP Rising Sun Turf Club grand horse racing meet last Sunday. Going into the race the odds were 2to 1 in favour of Score’s Even with many turvites still expecting another stunning performance from Treacle the last horse to beat score’s even some four months ago. Jockeyed by Aji score’s even made every furlong a winning one as she came home with more than four lengths ahead of her closest rival Treacle.

Minister of Home Affairs and General Secretary Clement Rohee handed over the trophy to the winner owner.


Guyana Football Federation Vice President Keith O jeer has said that the GFF has met all its obligations with regard to the Goal project. He said the Ministry of Sport had some concerns and these were communicated to the FIFA development officer attached to the project.

But though the magnitude of the Goal project is greater than even the Ministry’s contribution to football in Guyana, the ministry of Sport still wants to have control over how the land is utilised for the project. Dr Anthony says this is because of past experiences

IF the request by the ministry of Sport finds no objection from FIFA/CONCACAF then things will move forward but until then Ojeer said as long as the Goal project is held up another aspect of development the special project facility will also be held up.
