And some dissatisfied members of the GFA/GFF met on Saturday to air their concerns with the management of football in Guyana. Head of the Coaches association and Coach of top city club Alpha United Wayne Dover believes that the current state of football administration is unacceptable. He said many players locally and abroad are very upset with the situation which can affect them directly.

Touching on the reasons for the grouses GFA General Secretary Odinga Lumumba said the disgruntled group  wants to see the GFF do several things to show its commitment to the process of transparency.

The group were part of an unsuccessful lobby to pass a no confidence motion in the President of the GFF and Vice President Keith O Jeer when the extraordinary Congress was held on April 26.

The GFF is to convene another special congress by June 10 to finally settle several contentious issues.

Turbulent times may be ahead again for Guyana Cricket with the passage of the Cricket Administration bill. This newscast understands that with the passage of the cricket administration bill the status of the GCB as a body incorporated in the BVI may be in conflict with the new bill. Now the shares of the WICB are split between the 6 cricket playing territories of the Caribbean and Guyana’s shares are vested in the GCB. Now if the WICB does not recognise the GCB then no player can represent Guyana at any WICB/ICC approved tournament. Minister of Sport Dr Frank Anthony commented on the matter.
