Police continue to work to ensure safer communities
While the police are trying to forge a better relationship with residents in Tiger Bay the residents had some concerns that they need to address. They blame the police for frequently arresting and harassing the young men in the community.
On Saturday commander of A division Clifton Hicken and team visited the community and told the residents that the force is working with other key stakeholders to empower young people through sports and skills training to make the right decisions.
Hicken said this exercise was part of the force’s impact initiative to build better communities and better citizens.
This exercise first started with the impact Albouystown where the focus was not only on ridding the community of criminal elements but providing vocational skills training and the development of young sporting talent.
