Matthews outlasted all his challengers to emerge overall champion in the race Local rider Geron Williams came second  just under a minute from Matthews

Williams called for team riding and more international races.

Winning the final stage was Paul de Nobrega and he said it was a tough race.

Guyana turned the tables on Barbados in their  2014 NACRA 15s – SOUTH ZONE CHAMPIONSHIP LEAGUE when they beat their hosts 48-19. The Guyanese had 8 tries that accounted for 40 points and Captain Ryan Gonsalves had 4 conversions for the other 8 points. The National team returned home Sunday and will re commence training for their final round robin game against nemesis Trinidad and Tobago in Guyana in what is billed as the final.

The National sports Commission Independence Table tennis competition got underway this weekend with over 250 paticipants. Several catergories were completed in both male and female catergories from u 9 ,11, 13, 15 and U18 with the senior catergories due to be finished next weekend.
