New Candy factory opens

Screen shot 2014-05-22 at 9.33.19 PMIt was an initiative that was born over four years ago but had its fair share of set backs, now the dream is finally realized with the launch of Sueria Manufacturing Inc. This Kaieteur candy factory is currently employing 20 persons and over the coming weeks the management will be seeking to grow this figure. The factory is the brainchild of publisher of Kaieteur News Glen Lall and cost in excess of 2 million US dollars. With the catch line “Sweet Dreams Do Come through” the management and staff hopes to cash in on the local and international markets with  8 different flavours of candy, in addition to honey roasted peanuts and salted nuts and they are looking to produce a bubble gum and packaged plantain and cassava chips. President Donald Ramotar who applauded the efforts of the businessmen declared the factory open. The industrial site Eccles east bank Demerara business once housed the printery for Kaieteur News.
