Basketball-Hoop-2And Basketball Federation President Nigel Hinds hopes that better sense prevails and his federation’s players are allowed to use the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall. A possible lockout was expected this evening when a GABF team training for the Caricom Basketball championships and other tournaments turn up for training. The Director of Sport reportedly plans the lockout.

GABF says it is not about to delegate its responsibility to prepare the IGG a group that is not even a member of the federation.

The GABF President says it is time to stand up for fairness

Police take on Gcc  in the final of the Carib 20 20 tournament .The action starts at 1 in the afternoon at the Police sports club and Captain of the Police team Captain Roy ann Fredericks said  this is a grudge match for them

Gcc Captain Robin Bacchus has other ideas, however he will not be taking things lightly.

The Guyana Squash Association has  2 tournaments running the , the National Junior Squash Championships 2014 sponsored by Woodpecker Products Ltd where 43 junior players will be participating The GSA will use this tournament to help select the team for the Junior Caribbean Squash Championships scheduled to be held in Bermuda, July 11 – 19, 2014. Guyana is the nine times defending champions.

the Kraft Junior Skill Level Tournament sponsored by Toucan Industries is also on and this tournament features 36 junior players. Players are grouped according to their skill level for this tournament. The tournament continues each weeknight this week beginning at 6pm at the Georgetown Club and will be concluded on Sunday.

Table Tennis

This Friday it’s the National Sports Commission (NSC) Independence table tennis competition at the National Gymnasium., the tournament will have two segments the juniors and seniors

Closing date for entries is on Thursday15th May 2014 and over 200 entries expected from Georgetown, West Demerara, Berbice, Bartica, East Coast and Linden.
