PNC Leader says Gov’t is misleading the public on Rodeny inquiry

Screen shot 2014-05-09 at 8.44.35 PMPeople’s National Congress Reform (PNC/R) Leader David Granger reacting to the recent call by the ruling People’s Progressive Party Civic saying that he should be ordered to appear before the Walter Rodney Commission.

Granger said the PNCR is of the view that the inquiry into Dr. Rodney’s death should be aimed at finding out what happened and how it happened.

The Party Leader describes the current administration’s move to establish the inquiry as a means to open the floodgates to hearsay.

PNC/R Chairman, Basil Williams says the commission’s approach leaves much to desire. He noted that the Party stands ready to defend its name and members as the administration sets out to damage the reputation of the PNC administration.

Opposition Member Joseph Harmon is of the opinion that the PPP administration seems to be clinging for power and will attempt to use any means necessary.

The Opposition Party says that the PPPC has no interest in the real facts behind Dr. Rodney’s death and might miss this chance to pursue the truth.
