Guyana Police Force working with schools

Screen shot 2014-04-30 at 11.58.17 PMActing commissioner of police Seelall Persaud said that the Guyana Police Force has commenced the reintroduction of the drug abuse resistance education program in schools across the country.

He said the structured program teaches drug resistance and violence avoidance in the school system.

Persaud said the force would continue to engage in capacity building in the constantly changing environment.

And the police are also working to establish a suicide prevention hotline.

Currently Albouystown is used as a pilot project dubbed impact Albouystown where the focus will be not only on crime prevention and detection, but empowering youths to develop skills in order to make proper decisions.

This exercise is expected to be run across the country.
