Police arrest three persons for two separate murders

Screen shot 2014-04-25 at 8.20.59 PMA 45-year-old labourer of Kane Ville on the east bank of Demerara was today remanded to prison after he was charged for death of his brother.

Rohan Teekram was not required to plead to the indictable charge when the matter was called before chief magistrate Priya Beherry in the Georgetown magistrate’s court.

It is reported that Rohan dealt his brother several chops about his body after the two were fighting at their home in Kane Ville.

Jairam  reportedly concealed the man’s body under a carpet in the yard.

Neighbors who immediately summoned the police made the discovery. They told reporters that the two men would normally quarrel and fight.

Rohan was return to court on May 12th to give the police time to complete their investigations.

Meanwhile two persons are now in custody following the murder of salesman Bharrat Ramcharran yesterday outside of Patsan trading.

Crime Chief Lesile James told this newscast that in addition to the arrest the police also recovered a gun.

The salesman attached to Patsan Trading had just exited his vehicle at Sheriff and Johnsmith Streets when a gunman shot him in his abdomen and relieved him of an undisclosed amount of cash.

He was rushed to the Woodlands Hospital where he was pronounced dead. it is unclear if the surveillance video footage was obtained by the police from the business.  But this newscast understands that the entire shooting incident was caught on tape.
