Police say weapon recovered in Albouystown Home Invasion attempt.

At about 1100h today Thursday April 17, 2014, businessman Rafeek Singh, 35 years, and his wife Bibiwattie Singh were alerted to noise at the back of their home at Albouys Street, Albouystown.

On checking, Rafeek Singh was confronted by a man climbing up a ladder to his home and who discharged a round at him.

Police ranks in the area responded to the sound of the gunshot and on approaching the scene, the armed man discharged rounds at them. He was however subsequently arrested and an unlicensed .45 Smith and Wesson pistol with five live rounds and three spent shells were recovered by the police.

The man is in police custody and charges will be made shortly.
