Sugar workers strike continues

GUYSUCOAs NACCIE strike action enters into its 2nd day the union is now taking a swipe at the Human Resources Director of the Guyana Sugar Corporation Mr. Jairam Pitam.

Naccie is of the view that the Human Resources Management has been causing the Corporation to lose its workers in the field, factory and office.

The union’s contention is that Pitam has apparently lost all of the decency that goes with his office when instead of paying what is correct to the workers represented by NAACIE, continues to speak of what effects the strike has caused  on sugar production

The Union had issued an ultimatum on  GuySuCo dated December 27, 2013, informing Guysuco that their members will continue to struggle for their rights.

According to NACCIE their intention is to do whatever it takes to cause GUYSUCO to pay salaries owed to its members in keeping with the Norman Mc Lean arbitration award and collective labour agreement dating back to July 2011.
