Outspoken commentator Ramon Gaskin faults the 2014 Budget
Outspoken social commentator and activist Ramon Gaskin says government’s 2014 budget lacks job creation for the ordinary citizens and university graduates. According to Gaskin the value added tax remains too high and the refusal to address public servants’ salaries are all areas that the ruling party did not take into consideration in this budget.
Gaskin was analyzing aspects of the budget during an interview with this newscast.
He said it is time for the government to stop pumping millions into the struggling sugar industry. GUYSUCO was expected to receive 6billion dollars in yet another bailout.
While the government continues to pump substantial sums into the utility company GPL the former Guyana Electricity Corporation chairman feels the that GPL is a total disgrace.
