The woman who poisoned her two children appears in court
The matter was called at the Vigilance Magistrates court before magistrate Zamilla Ally. The woman was not required to plead to the indictable charge and was remanded to prison until April 24th at the Mahaicony Magistrates court.
On march 27th, Rutherford reportedly fed her two children Jabari and Julianna Cadogan carbon tablets at her Supply Mahaicony home. She was under police guard at the GPHC after she reportedly attempted to take her own life by ingesting some of the carbon tablets. The woman was discharged late last week after her condition improved.
Meanwhile emotions ran high as scores of persons came out to bid farewell to the two children at the Jerricks’ Funeral Home where a viewing that moved many mourners was held.
Many of those gathered were pondering on what could have driven the woman to commit such a dreadful act.
