UG Vice Chancellor obtains consideration for Consultancy
The University of Guyana’s Vice Chancellor Professor Jacob Opadeyi is being considered for a consultancy with the Deeds Registry in Guyana. Under the support for Competitiveness Programme through an Inter-American Development Bank Loan the Vice Chancellor is expected to be looking at the Digitization of Immovable Property Records and the Establishment of an Electronic Database with linkage to the Sub-Registries.
Dr. Jacob Opadeyi who has been advocating that the University itself should be seeking more business opportunities will himself control a three month contract worth about US$193,000.
The objective of the contract according to IDB documents is to deliver to the Deeds Registry a fully functional secured Land Management Information System for optimal use by staff across the Registry, within the duration set for the project.
