ssaThe Police Force has formed a Rugby team as it seeks to find ways to provide recreation for its ranks. Force training officer Senior Superintendent Paul Williams said he has many talented athletes in the force who will make the team competitive.

East Ruimveldt will battle Tutorial High in a female matchup at 11this Saturday morning and Tutorial High tackles Campbellville Sec. in male action at 9:30 Sunday in the GSDF scotia/pepsi Schools football tournament.
Both games will be played at the Ministry of Education Complex on Carifesta Avenue. At the launching chairman of the GSDF Victor wright said that the round robin format will benefit the players who will be in the 10-15 yr age range.
The Coaches association will also be involved and according to Sampson Gilbert the players and coaches will benefit from their technical expertise
DDL and Scotia bank are again fully behind the 4 month long tournament and they both expressed satisfaction with how the tournament has been evolving
And in cricket Merissa Aguillera will once again lead the WI women in the ICC World 20 20 cup due for Bangladesh starting this weekend. The Squad includeds last year’s player of the Tournament Stefanie Taylor as well as Anisa Mohammed  who was one of the highest wickettakers. Guyanese pair Shemain Campbelle and tremayne Smartt are part of the squad. On Tuesday the wi take on SA in a warm up match before opening their Campaign on March 24 against England.
And this Year’s Caribbean Premier League 20/20 tournament will have its semi-finals and Finals in St Kitts and Nevis. Over 120 overseas players have signed up for this year’s tournament a number the organisers say is five times more than those signed for last year.Australians lead the way with 30 while Englishmen will make their debuts if selected. The full list is to be released on Monday. Jamaica’s Tallawahs defeated Guyana’s Amazon warriors to lift the inaugural cup.
