APNU calling for new board at GUYSUCO as woes continue

GUYSUCOWith the failure of all the turnaround plans for the struggling sugar industry the opposition APNU is calling fresh board, instead of a recycling of the old board members. Joseph Harmon APNU executive member at a press briefing said that the administration is pouring money into a dark hole.

Harmon is calling for clear representation on the board by people recommended by the opposition.

It was opposition leader David Granger who said that his party would support some functions of the industry being given to private entities. Granger’s position was shot down by the private sector.

The sugar industry is struggling to meet its annual production target.
