New Anglican Dean of Georgetown installed

The St. George’s Cathedral was filled to capacity on the afternoon of Sunday February 2, 2014. The Ceremony to install the new Dean of Georgetown Father Paul Andrew Carto was an elaborate, grand one that began with a procession outside the Cathedral.
Inside the members of the Congregation joined with the Clergy and Choir in raising their voices to mark the installation of the New Dean.
Delivering the Sermon, Canon Ranfurly Brown of the Bahamas observed that the Church in general and the Anglican body in particular should be the Standard bearer in the Society.
The Anglican Lord Bishop of Guyana Cornell Jerome Moss presided over the distinctive ritual that raised Fr. Carto to the position of Dean. Chancellor of the Diocese Madame Justice Desiree Bernard read the mandate:
Dean Carto performed his first act as Dean of Georgetown by installing his predecessor Terry Davis as Archdeacon and Fathers Rayside and Elias as Canons.
The ceremony was attended by hundreds who filled the Cathedral including the President, Prime Minister, Opposition Leader and other dignitaries and other high ranking members of the Clergy and Laity
