Lindeners vow to hold Govt. accountable
On Saturday the residents showed their frustration by protest marching through the street while about 70% of the businesses in the community closed their doors in protest.
Regional chairman Sharma Solomon said the region stands ready to take all necessary course of action and fight for their constitutional rights.
The action was prompted following a visit to the community by president Donald Ramotar to reopen the PPP’s regional office. The residents said the president’s action was disrespectful since in their view he has made no serious attempt to provide jobs for the community and empower them.
The president did not receive a warm welcome from the aggrieved residents who protested in front of the regional office calling for a level playing field.
By this time the police was out in their number as they keep watch on the developments.
