Former beauty queen charged and remanded to prision

Former beauty queen Carol Ann LynchFormer beauty queen model CarolAnn Lynch was today remanded to prison as the police reinstituted the murder charges that were dismissed in 2008.

Lynch was charged with the murder of her husband  cambio dealer Farouk Razac back in 2007. His  body was found at the couple’s home in Bel Air Park with blood coming from his mouth.

She was not required to plead to the indictable charges when she appeared before chief magistrate Priya Beharry in the Georgetown magistrates court.

Attorneys at law Latchmie Rahaman and Peter Hugh represented Lynch. Attorney at law Rahaman requested an early trial and the matter to be heard in the same court since according to her there is no new evidence to hold her client accountable in this case.

It was back 2010 the DPP ordered a retrial in the case which was dismissed by then magistrate Gordon Gilhuys. In his ruling he told the court that the prosecution has failed to established a prima facie case against Lynch.

Lynch was on the run since and turned her self into the police on Monday after she evaded the police for three years.

Lynch’s family members are expressing disappointment over this latest move and pledged to fight for her freedom.

Lynch will make her next court appearance on February 5.
