Well Young power-lifter Gumendra Shewdas who was recently banned from the sport for 2 years after allegedly taking performance enhancing stimulants has been backed by his relatives who maintained that he has done nothing wrong. His Grandfather said that he believes the charges have been fabricated.
Shewdas’ Grandfather also said he is against his grandson paying back any money to the Federation as had been expressed by power-lifting officials. He says he thinks the Federation should have done more to support the young lifter
Ell as for Shewdas himself he is very surprised and said he will have to pick himself up after the ordeal.
Well the WI cricket team returns to the Caribbean empty handed after they suffered a six wicket loss in the second of the two 20/20 matches against New Zealand to lose that series 2 nil . They had already been beaten in the Test Series and drew the one day series after coming from behind. In the second 20/20 match played WestIndies scored 159/5 off their 20 overs with Denesh Ramdin scoring an unbeaten 55 and he was supported by Andre Fletcher who made 40. New Zealand surged late to race past the WI total with an over to spare, match winner Luke Ronchi as he did in the first match made his mark with 51 not out supported by Ross Taylor with 39.
