Probe continues into Saturday’s plane crash
It was just around 9:30 Saturday morning witnesses are reporting that the aircraft was about to take off from the Ogle International Airport when it went down.
The Fenix Airways Inc passenger/ cargo plane was heading to the interior with four persons on board including a pregnant woman.
Those injured were rushed to private hospitals in the city where medical attention was administered. Up to news time the pregnant woman was said to be in a stable condition while the other passengers were treated for minor injuries and sent away.
The Police and members of the Guyana Civil Aviation Authority immediately began conducting their probe quickly cordoning off the crash site.
Ogle Airport Inc (OAI) spokesperson, Kit Nascimento told reporters during a press briefing at the airport on Saturday Air traffic at Ogle was disrupted for approximately an hour as an emergency crew quickly rushed to the scene to render assistance.
Fenix Airways Company official Eddie Doolall, said that Raul Seecharran piloted the aircraft. Deolall said that, “the company sympathizes with all the affected persons, and commended Ogle Airport personnel for their assistance.”
