Veteran Broadcaster Terry Holder dies at his home
His death was confirmed by his son Duane who said other relatives were around his bedside.
Holder who had been ailing for some time now retired from GT&T just about two years ago. He also served in several other private and public organizations for nearly 50 years including the Ministry of Information.
Holder who was the first Program Directer of the Guyana Broadcasting Service (GBS) later became General Manager of the Guyana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC). Holder served as both President and later Secretory General of the Caribbean Broadcasting Union CBU an entity he helped to establish.
Holder was also a Sports Administrator and was the Public Relations Officer of the Guyana Cricket Board for well over 2 decades. He did not stand for re-election at the Board’s last elections in 2012 because of ill health. He was active in community oriented NGO’s particularly the Rotary Club.
Terence Ormonde Holder known too as “T-O” was 73 years old at the time of his passing.
