Police Blotter: Policeman died from haemorrhage and shock due to gunshot injuries
A post mortem examination was Wednesday January 08, 2014, performed on the body of Police Corporal Seburn Elias by Pathologist Dr. Nehaul Singh. The cause of death was given as haemorrhage and shock due to gunshot injuries.
A warhead was removed from the body by the Pathologist and subsequent tests done by the Police Ballistics Section have confirmed that it was a .38 round.
Corporal Seburn Elias was shot and killed on January 06, 2014, by a prisoner who had escaped from police custody during efforts to recapture him. The prisoner had taken away a policeman’s
.38 service revolver in the process of his escape.
