Water street vendors concerned about garbage and sewerage problems
This area in Water Street is beginning to look like a dumpsite and it’s upsetting to vendors who are plying their trade around it. According to the vendors some of those who ply their trade in the area during the Christmas season are responsible but they are still blaming the city council.
And further up the street another set of vendors who are selling fruits are faced with a sewerage problem and they too are not happy.
They told this newscast that the unhealthy situation is happening for some time now with no one in authority showing any concern to the health hazard this could cause.
While the vendors are fighting on the streets central government and the Georgetown city council are battle to reach consensus on a way forward to clean the garbage placed there by Businesses and Residents of the city
