Political party calls for collaborative In combating domestic violence

domestic violence 2ndOver seventeen women died last year as a result of domestic violence and it remains a major concern as more women continue to lose their lives as the years goes by.

Peoples Progressive Party Member of Parliament Dr. Vindhya Persaud has thrown out a call for greater involvement when it comes to dealing with domestic violence. She believes there should be a resolution to solve the problem that includes all major stakeholders.

Dr. Persaud has admitted that enough is not being done to deal with domestic violence but thinks what is needed at this time is more public education on the subject.

International studies for the last few years have indicated that in both developing and developed countries some 20 and 67 percent of women globally would experience violence in their relationships.
