Mayor Green demands master plan for garbage disposal
While the government is optimistic that the 1million US grant they will receive will help with the solid waste programme in and out of the city the mayor feels its bad news. He is calling for a master plan to be put in place to rid the country of the pile up of garbage.
The mayor said one must take into account the recent experiences in dealing with the solid waste problem.
The city chief citizen then went after the minister of local government over the ministry’s proposal of some 56 million to clean the city.
According to mayor Green for too long the government has shot down ideas of the council to broaden its revenue base hence the financial woes at city hall.
