West Indies whipped again
WI crashed to defeat by an innings and 73 runs in the second test after a double strike by Trent Bolt who picked up 4 wkts to follow up his 6 in the first innings to end with 10 in the match. WI Captain Darren Sammy was not too happy with the result which was inside 3 days. But he said the team has the mettle to come back hungry and level the series.
WI were bowled out for 193 in response to New Zealand’s 441. They were asked to follow on and again and again had a good start before they collapsed to be all out for 175
It was the Windies third defeat inside 3 days in their last 4 tests.
And as the WI announced their One day squad there is no place for IPL stars Chris Gayle and Kieron Pollard. Both are recovering from injuries gayle hamstring and Pollard a knee injury. The 2 players remain 2 of WI explosive one day stars and will be missed according to WI one day Captain Dwayne Brave. Veeraammy Permaul who is in the test squad will be replaced by Nikita Miller in the odi squad . Kirk Edwards is already in the squad having replaced the injured Gayle. Lendl Simmons will also be in the squad.
The first of 3 one day matches starts on Boxing day.
