The struggle continues as public servants continue their picketing

GPSU AFC 9thThe message was clear by public servants that after 12 years they have no intention of settling for the government imposed 5%.

Today the workers and their union protested outside of the office of the president demanding a 25% increase in salary and are also calling on the government to return to the bargaining table.

General secretary of the umbrella trade union movement Lincoln Lewis described this latest imposition as an eye pass to the workers.

AFC leader Khemraj Ramjattan was also there to lend support and he told this newscast that 5% increase in pay was not allocated by parliament for public servants.

The union is asking where is the 4.4 billion that was approved and passed in the national assembly for salary increases  since it was  not given to public servants.
