Union continues to protest salary increase imposition
The government is blaming cuts to the national budget for the 5% offered but the union is making clear that $4.4billion was budgeted, approved and passed in the national assembly for salary increases for public servants.
The union said this latest imposition is nothing new; they said that the government has a track record of imposition for over a decade and they intend to put a halt to the imposition.
Meanwhile both the political opposition parties the APNU and AFC are speaking out on the imposition.
The union is calling on the government to return to the bargaining table and honour the collective bargaining agreement signed with the union.
