DDL is the sponsor for this week’s Diamond Mineral water 50 mile Cycle race over on the West Demerara The race is scheduled for Sunday, 10th November, 2013 and will commence from Wales Police Station at 08:00 hours, proceed to Bushy Park (Parika) East Bank Essequibo before returning to the Demerara Harbour Bridge. This year the race has grown from four (4) to six (6) categories; Seniors, Juniors, Veteran, Upright and Veteran Over 60 years. This is the 14th Year DDL has been sponsoring this event.

Basketball

And The GABA YOLO entertainment basketball tournament has provided lots of entertainment for the fans and the players according to Organiser Kirk Jardine

Jardine said for this weekend’s finals 5 teams have qualified and they will play for trophies after giving up the cash prizes.

The use of innovations in the game as well as fan excitement was a huge plus for the organisers

And Macorp will ensure that golf players are kept busy this weekend with their sponsorship of the Macorp Invitational Golf tournament. Vice President of the Lusignan Golf club Dave Mohammed said the course is in excellent shape for this weekend’s tournament

Mohammed also disclosed that Macorp will be sponsoring a competition for the Caddies that work with the golfers around the course .this will take place on Sunday.

CEO of Macorp Jorge Medina said that the Lusignan golf course has improved over the years and the events like Sundays will help to sell a good image of Guyana abroad. He said Macorp is well aware of its social responsibility to Guyana hence its support of the tournament.
