Kitty Market stall holders seek answers on repairs

MarketKitty market stallholders are holding their ground while central government and the Georgetown municipality come up with a plan and the funding to repair the market.

The stallholders are saying that the building has historical value that must be preserved.

The stallholders told this newscast that for years the market has been in a deplorable state and they are now beginning to feel neglected.

Today this newscast spoke to two of the community members who told us that word on the street is that the market is up for privatization and some Chinese national is said to be interested in buying the market, but they are hoping that’s not the situation.

Due to the state of the market some stallholders have closed their stalls and are operating outside.
